Waynesboro is a city in Wayne County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 2,228 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Wayne County.

Mark Collie, country music singer,

Mark Collie (born January 18, 1956 in Waynesboro, Tennessee) is an American country singer/songwriter and occasional actor. To date, Collie has recorded seven studio albums, and has charted more than a dozen singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs charts.

His first single, "Something With a Ring to It", was co-written with Aaron Tippin. The song was later recorded by Garth Brooks.

In 1998, Collie appeared as Johnny Cash in the short film, I Still Miss Someone. Shot mostly in stunning black and white, it captures a moment in time during Cash's darkest years of the mid 1960s.

He has appeared in episodes of television shows such as JAG, Walker, Texas Ranger and The Strip.

In The Punisher, he played Harry 'Heck' Thornton, an assassin who plays Frank Castle a song, "In Time" (written by Collie) before attempting to kill him. The song is featured as the last track on the Original Soundtrack, and over the credits on the Director's Cut.

In Fire Down Below, he plays a thug who tries to kill Steven Seagal's character.

Surrounding Waynesboro, a variety of species of fish can be caught including, largemouth and small mouth bass, rock bass, bluegill and other perch, and catfish. Some waters even host a few rainbow trout.

Natchez Trace Parkway

As early as 1733, French traders were using maps based on a series of hunter's paths that stretched from Mississippi into Tennessee. By 1810, the trail evolved into a clearly marked road of commerce, bet there was always an element of danger: the Trace was host to robbers preying on unsuspecting travelers.

In 1812 steamboats began providing a safer and faster method of transportation from the Ohio Valley to New Orleans, and travel on the Trace eventually began to decline.

Natchez Trace
The Parkway, constructed by the National Park Service, offers those who travel the famous route, an absolutely beautiful drive and numerous historical points of interest.

It is a purely natural formation that was formed over millions of years by nature. Indians used the site over several different periods of history. Tribes including the Yucchi Indians from Mexico, the Choctaw, Chickasaw, Muskogean, Creeks and Cherokees walked the trails around natural Bridge long before the white man came to this country. The last Indians here were the Cherokees but they were ordered out by Andrew Jackson in the 1800's. They embarked on the "Trail of Tears". The site is bordered by Forty-Eight Creek which is crystal clear cool water. Many species of fish can be seen from the banks. Another popular creation of nature on the grounds is the "Ice" cave. The temperature in the cave is a cool 58 degrees year round. The stream coming out of the cave is stocked with rainbow trout. Entertainment is provided on special occasions by local musicians and drama groups.
