A Lesson

A son took his old father to a restaurant for an evening dinner.
Father being very old and weak, while eating, dropped food on his shirt and trousers.
Others ...diners watched him in disgust while his son was calm.
After he finished eating, his son who was not at all embarrassed, quietly took him to the wash room, wiped the food particles, removed the stains, combed his hair and fitted his spectacles firmly. When they came out, the entire restaurant was watching them in dead silence, not able to grasp how someone could embarrass themselves publicly like that.
The son settled the bill and started walking out with his father.
At that time, an old man among the diners called out to the son and asked him, "Don't you think you have left something behind?".
The son replied, "No sir, I haven't".
The old man retorted, "Yes, you have! You left a lesson for every son and hope for every father".
The restaurant went silent.

8 Things To Buy At A Dollar Store

Seasonal Decor
You may be wasting a lot of money buying things from your local department or grocery store instead of a dollar store. A lot of times the dollar store is over looked. Many think that all of the items available at the dollar store are cheap and not as well made as brand name items. Although this may be true for some products, it definitely isn’t true for all of them! Knowing the right things to buy from a dollar store is a simple and easy way for you to save a ton of money.

1. Seasonal Décor

You can save a ton of money buying seasonal décor at the dollar store! Why pay a ton of money on things people are only going to see once a year. At Christmas time you can always find gift wrap and bags for super cheap. There are also lots of cute decorations for usually about a dollar. At that price you can afford to decorate the whole house!

Crafts for Kids

2. Crafts for Kids

Craft supplies can be pricey! The dollar store is a great place to stock up on craft supplies for kids. Paint, glitter, beads etc. can all be found at the dollar store. Although not the quality a serious crafter would be looking for; these items are perfect for kids.

Cleaning Supplies

3. Cleaning Supplies

Most cleaning products contain essentially the same ingredients. You can save a ton of money buying a generic brand of cleaner at the dollar store over a brand name. Even if you have to use a little extra cleaner to get the job done you will still save a ton. The dollar store also sells disposable gloves, cloths, and sponges for much less.

Greeting Cards

4. Greeting Cards

Greeting cards from a store can cost sometimes as much as $5 or $6 dollars nowadays. Why spend that much money on a card when it is the message from you that matters the most! You can find a great selection of cards for any occasion at the dollar store. Pick one with a simple message and write something great from you on the inside!

Socks

5. Socks

Socks always get lost or ruined so why pay full price on something that needs to be replaced all the time. For a dollar you can get a bunch of socks and not really care so much when only one seems to come out of the drier!

Hair Accessories

6. Hair Accessories

Kids are always loosing things and hair accessories are no exception! You can stock up on a ton of different hair clips, hair elastics even brushes and combs for yourself or your kids at the dollar store. They are pretty similar to the pricey store bought ones and you won’t feel as bad when they constantly go missing.

Party Supplies

7. Party Supplies

The dollar store is the place to go for party supplies; especially for kids’ birthdays. You’ll be able to find everything from plates and napkins to party favors and balloons! If you are a little creative you can do an amazing themed party by sticking to certain colors and only adding a few of the expensive items from a party store.

Health and Beauty Supplies

8. Health and Beauty Supplies

There are a surprising number of health and beauty products available at a dollar store that is the same as the expensive store brands. Some of the best are pregnancy tests, antibiotic ointments, loofah sponges, shaving cream and mouth wash. You can even find brand name make up from time to time such as Elf and Maybelline. Plus, you probably won’t notice a difference between the dollar store and the drug store products except in the price that you pay!

Memphis Airport History

Encouraged by the Memphis Aero Club, est. 1925, Watkins Overton made the construction of a Memphis airport a major issue in his mayoral campaign of 1927. After his election, the 100-acre Ward Farm about 7.5 miles SE of downtown Memphis was selected for the location. On June 15, 1929, the Memphis Municipal Airport opened for business, consisting of a sod field runway and three small hangars. Two hundred planes flew in to celebrate its opening. However that fall the stock market crash dampened the demand for passenger services. 1930 saw only 15 passengers arriving and departing Memphis on a daily basis. But air mail and air freight kept the airport open; the major carriers were American Airways and Chicago & South. The first improvements came in 1934, when three asphalt diagonal runways were constructed. In 1937-38, the New Deal chipped in with needed improvements as the WPA built a new terminal and generally modernized the airport facilities and infrastructure. During World War II, the U.S. Army assumed administration of the municipal airport. After the military relinquished its control, moves were made to respond to increased demands for passenger travel, especially regarding the Douglas DC-3. In 1947 the terminal was enlarged and by 1949 there were least six major carriers. The facility reached the benchmark of one million passengers in 1959. Four years later, on June 7, 1963, the city dedicated a new terminal which--for its $5.5 million cost--provided twenty-two airplane gates for seven competing airlines.

The Suitcase

(An eye opening story)

A man died, when he realized it, he saw God coming closer with a suitcase in his hand. God said: Alright son its time to go, surprised the man responded: Now? So soon? I had a lot of plans...

I'm sorry but its time to go.

What do you have in that suitcase? the man asked.

God answered: Your belongings.

My belongings? you mean my things, my clothes, my money?

God answered: Those things were not yours they belonged to the earth.

Is it my memories? the man asked.

God answered: those never belonged to you you they belonged to time.

Is it my talents?

God answered: those were never yours they belonged to the circumstances.

Is it my friends and family?

God answered: I'm sorry they were never yours they belonged to the path.

Is it my wife and son?

God answered: They were never yours they belonged to your heart.

Is it my body?

God answered: that was never yours it belonged to the dust.

Is it my soul?

God answered: No that is mine.

Full of fear, the man took the suitcase from god and opened it just to find out the suitcase was empty.
With a tear coming down his cheek the man said: I never had anything???

God answered: that is correct, every moment you lived were only yours. Life is just a moment. a moment that belongs to you.

For this reason enjoy this time while you have it. Don't let anything that you think you own stop you from doing so.

Live Now

Live your life

Don't forget to be happy, that is the only thing that matters.

Material things and everything else that you fought for, stay here.

YOU CAN'T TAKE ANYTHING

Enjoy every second you live...

Heart Touching Story

Respecting Your Parents

Click Here to read this "Special Story."
An 80 year old man was sitting on the sofa in his house along with his 45 years old highly educated son. Suddenly a crow perched on their window.
The Father asked his Son, “What is this?” The Son replied “It is a crow”. After a few minutes, the Father asked his Son the 2nd time, “What is this?” The Son said “Father, I have just now told you “It’s a crow”. After a little while, the old Father again asked his Son the 3rd time, What is this?” At this time some expression of irritation was felt in the Son’s tone when he said to his Father with a rebuff. “It’s a crow, a crow”.A little after, the Father again asked his Son the 4th time, “What is
this?”
This time the Son shouted at his Father, “Why do you keep asking me the same question again and again, although I have told you so many times ‘IT IS A CROW’. Are you not able to understand this?”

A little later the Father went to his room and came back with an old tattered diary, which he had maintained since his Son was born. On opening a page, he asked his Son to read that page. When the son read it, the following words were written in the diary :-
“Today my little son aged three was sitting with me on the sofa, when a crow was sitting on the window. My Son asked me 23 times what it was, and I replied to him all 23 times that it was a Crow. I hugged him lovingly each time he asked me the same question again and again for 23 times. I did not at all feel irritated I rather felt affection for my innocent child”.
While the little child asked him 23 times “What is this”, the Father had felt no irritation in replying to the same question all 23 times and when today the Father asked his Son the same question just 4 times, the Son felt irritated and annoyed.
So..
If your parents attain old age, do not repulse them or look at them as a burden, but speak to them a gracious word, be cool, obedient, humble and kind to them. Be considerate to your parents. From today say this aloud, “I want to see my parents happy forever. They have cared for me ever since I was a little child. They have always showered their selfless love on me.
They crossed all mountains and valleys without seeing the storm and heat to make me a person presentable in the society today”. Say a prayer to God, “I will serve my old parents in the BEST way. I will say all good and kind words to my dear parents, no matter how they behave.
Thanks for spending your time on reading this story……
